There are many places to go camping in the State of Georgia. Tucked away in the north Georgia mountains about 5 miles north west is one of the gems available. With only a handful of campsites, this quiet and beautiful campground is only accessable in the Spring until late Fall. Capsites are $10 a night, first come, first serve.

Georgia's Travelers Rest State Park

Traveling the North Georgia mountains in 1811 was a trip of several days. A new road named "The Unicoi Turnpike" opened up the Appalachian Mountains to commerce and travelers. Businesses opened up to provide for the needs of the weary rider. Food and lodging improved the trip, and one of those locations was Travelers Rest.
